GC has nothing to do with H1b only issue is they will verify whether you were in status all the time.

This was already dicussed here in a seperate thread almost 3 weeks ago and everybody knows this is the face saving techniqu of Infosys by paying some not popular channels in USA. just to save from the CHOP SHOP thing.

In our 485 notices, Under the section, it is stated as Unknown. priority date is blank. Please let me know if anyone is facing similar situation and what needs to be done to correct it?

Easiest option is to get a PIO card - very long validity, no need to get visa every time.

Myself and my wife filed our I-485 applications a couple of years ago. My wife was supposed to fill the date of birth of her mother in the application form. My month-in-law was born in a village about sixty five years ago, and nobody is aware of her precise date of birth. So we filled a date that was the most probable date as per our best judgment.
We forgot about the matter till now. However recently my folks back in India got a passport made for my mother-in-law. In the passport they filled a different date of birth (same year, different day and month). I came to know of this issue when we were planning to obtain a visitor visa for my mother-in-law.
How will this issue impact our pending I-485 applications, and the chances of my mother-in-law obtaining a US visa. It was a genuine mistake with no ulterior motives whatsoever. However now the lady has two different DOB in two different set of documents (her passport and her daughter's I-485 application). Should we take any steps to rectify the matter, or just ignore it.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano today traveled to Laredo, Texas to announce more than $47 million in fiscal year 2010 Operation Stonegarden grants for the Southwest border states. She also met with law enforcement leaders to discuss the Department�s efforts to support state, local and tribal law enforcement in protecting communities from cross-border threats. I have also read that only when you go out of the country and when you stamp your visa thats when one of the visa goes invalid.

You are already out of status as you are not on L anymore. As of october 01st, your status changed to H-1b and you can only be employed by your H-1b employer.
Talk to a lawyer who knows L stuff (not many do) and straighten things out.

I am from Ireland and its for a Multi national manager or executive. My attorney told me that form her experience it takes 4-6 weeks after approval of the I-140 as the visa numbers are current. Bit apprehensive to give the company as I dont see a need for anyone to know this info???

In response to my service request on 9th Sept 2009, my I485 has been transferred to the USCIS Hialeah Florida office for further processing. Normally I -485 cases are forwarded to local offices for the purposes of scheduling an in-person interview. In my case I live in New York and no way connected to FL. I am curious anybody or any of your friend�s have similar experience.

i got my i140 approved ,i-485 applied >180 days with my old employer.i have my h1b till 2010.Now i got an offer from a new company who is willing to do my h1b transfer and they said no need for doing labour,i140 again.
i am confused. is that safe if i do h1b transfer and keeping old employer's i140.(they won't revoke).Are its better to use ead to avoid confusion in GC process.pls show me the light.

This should serve as a warning to those innocent among us who think his new-found love for point-based system is anything but another ploy by racist southern republican to deny, stall, delay anything that might benefit anyone of slightly colored skin!!

have u seen the legal immigration/ foriegn workers issue address by Bush today. althou he spoke just 1-2 sentences. stating that ' legal immigration system needs to be fixed, so that foriegn workers are in no harm

i think majority of the Eb2 filings are under audit..
i ran my first ad..this sunday..and my lawyer didnt say a thing abt change in perm process.. but he did mention that Eb2 are being scrutinized more.
